    Happy Love Day

The fastest way show someone you care, is be caring about yourself first.

We‘re quick to give everyone in our lives plenty of unconditional love, but the same can‘t be said when it comes to self-love.

There is no better day to fix this than Valentine‘s Day, a holiday dedicated to all forms of affection.

Yes, we‘d all love to have a partner who buys us a thoughtful gift on Valentine‘s Day, but sometimes you need to purchase yourself a little trinket instead.

    Love Eccentrik.

    Dare to be you.

    A Touch of Fur

If you know me, you know that I love fur, a  fur will give a glamorous touch to any of your outfits. A 1929 story in Vogue stated that wearing fur showed “the kind of woman you are and the kind of life you lead.”

These days, fur isn’t just for dressing up anymore. It’s for doing everything in your everyday life.

Now that fur is on “Trend”, I am not sure if I agree with the above quote from vogue. Everyone is wearing fur but not because of who they are, merely that its cool and fashionable to wear right now.

The trend has unsurprisingly been made wildly popular among street-style influencers during the current fashion season. There are camouflage-pattern fur coats, tie-dyed fur coats and fur coats in an optical illusion M. C. Escher box pattern. Oh and you can’t forget fur shoes, hat, bag and key chain. You name it there is fur on it. But most prominent are statement coats. As Vogue noted, the coat smacks of “throwback, hip-hop vibes.” A trend that many celebrities of late have been adopting, in particular Cardi B.

The days where fur marked stature and wealth are well behind us. The fur of today, whether real or synthetic is mainstream and easily attainable.

There is a wide spectrum of ethical views, even among those who condemn fur. While some argue that wearing fur maybe acceptable since the animal has been dead for years. I also share the beliefs and respect that they’re other people that have strong opinions about fur.

Ethics asides, the divisive conversation over the use of fur and faux fur can overshadow another intriguing phenomenon: the fact that fur, faux or otherwise, is no longer confined to autumn or winter. Today, it can be used to convey looks that are both lavish and exceedingly eccentric.

Trends aside Fur coats and stoles from the ’50s and ’60s evoke the lux, decadent glamour of Marilyn Monroe and Elizabeth Taylor and that’s what I strive for when I add it to my outfits.
